A Good Feeling…

Around 2 o’clock this morning, I woke up for no reason.  The Chili Dawg had some how gotten up on our bed again.  This time, he was curled up next to Ryan and his “cone of shame” was gone (I found it on his dog bed- it’s good that he doesn’t try to lick his staples anymore).  Ryan woke up too (unheard of, by the way) and told Chili to get off the bed.  Clearly, Chili is feeling better post-amputation, because he gave Ryan a look like, “you’re kidding, right?” and crawled over him to get to me.  He immediately assumed our snuggle position for when Ryan is out of town with his head on my shoulder and let me pet his soft fur until I fell back to sleep- one of the best feelings in the world.

  1. Awwww. Sweet!

Abby is really good at that “you’re kidding, right?” look. Gets away with murder.

    All the best,
    Jackie, Abby’s mom

  2. That is awesome! Go Chili Dawg! And who needs dad snuggles when there are mom snuggles to be had??? That’s how my dogs feel too.

    1. The first time he got up there, my husband had to lift him down- he was too scared to get down. Now he sort of slides off on his stomach until his front leg is off and then slides the rest of the way on his side. It’s weird, but it works for him. I still have yet to see how he gets up there though.

  3. I just love reading your blogs!!! Emma had her first chemo treatment yesterday…….she seems to be doing well, very out of sorts though, mostly sleeping, but as always thumping her tail everytime I come to check on her, as if telling me it is OK!
I can’t wait for her to be able to jump back into bed to snuggle with me, I miss it soooo much! And as much as Keith always played the bad cop role, I think he misses it too! In the rare incident that he woke up he would look at her and she would jump down and simply wait until she heard Dad’s snoring commence and resume her position with Mom….looking forward to better days returning! Thank you for sharing, it puts happy tearful smiles on my face!!!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope Emma is up on the bed snuggling soon! Good luck with the chemo 🙂
