Four Months

It’s been four months since the Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow bridge, which is half a month longer than he was a tripawd.  At Christmas time every year, my husband makes a DVD of the kids and dogs for us to send to all of our family members scattered across the country.  This year, he put together a tribute to Chili Dawg.  I wanted to share it with you all since you joined us on this journey.  If you click on the link below, I believe it will take you to the video (cross my fingers).

  1. That was beautiful. What a sweet, beautiful boy.

I love the “But I’m a lap dog” pictures. 🙂

Thanks for sharing. It brought tears to my eyes to see what a happy life he had.

We loved you even though we never got to meet you, Chili Dawg!

  2. This made me cry, Jenna. I wish I could have met Chili. I hear so many horror stories of animals suffering at the hands of humans, so it is tremendously gratifying to know how adored Chili was. And still is.

Chili came to you when you needed him more than you knew. He helped you through some awful times, and then he helped you wrangle Noah and Juliana. And even though he didn’t pick cancer or amputation, he stayed as long as you needed him. I’d like to think that one day you really will walk over that bridge and he can somehow let you know that he was ready for a well-earned rest. “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Good boy, Chili Dawg.

  3. Oh Jenna, I am a total weepy mess now! What a beautiful tribute to Chili Dawg. I can’t believe it’s been 4 months already. We’re thinking of you all. We’re hoping that 2012 will bring lots more smiles and happy memories.

  4. What a loving, tender look at your family. You can feel how much Chili is loved. I am so sorry he left way to early.

I don’t know what to say to help take away the pain, time will help and we hope in the not to distant future, memories of your wonderful boy will bring smiles and giggles.

Thanks you for sharing him with us, he’s a handsome boy with a wonderful smile.

  5. Boy, did you make me cry. Chili Dawg was such a beautiful golden. Your pictures definitively show not only how much you loved him — but also how much he loved you. What a joy our furkids are, and how painful it is when we lose them.
Chili Dawg looked like he had the same beautiful golden eyes our Sammy had. It’s been almost a month for us.
Thanks for sharing your photos. It made me sad, but also made me smile. We were lucky to have had them, weren’t we?

  6. That was a beautiful video, what a tribute to Chili. I wish I could have known him and given him an ear rub and planted a kiss right between those sweet loving eyes of his. I especially enjoyed the pics of Chili and Finch playing. I’ll bet Finchy misses him terribly, as do you all.

Thanks so much for sharing this. We really loved it, too and I’m glad I got the tissue box before I clicked the play button.

  7. Hugs, hugs and more hugs to you and your pack. This is another one of those milestones that just takes your breath away, making you realize how quickly time flies.

The video is absolutely pawfect. It’s these kinds of beautiful images that help us get through the darkest times when we miss our loved ones the most. After all, these memories can never disappear from our hearts.

    We miss you too Chili.

  8. OMG, this totally made me cry. What a beautiful boy he was and the pictures sure show what a wonderful life he with you and your family. Not only were you blessed to have him, but he was so blessed to have you. Sending lots of hugs and sloppy kisses.
